Living in Minnesota you hear loons and their distinctive call from early spring to early fall. Whenever I am blessed to go to my good friends cabin in the summer I live for the early evening hours when I can hear the loons calling to each other before they go to bed. Then in the morning I listen for the calls because I know the babies will be with them riding on their backs waiting for breakfast to be served!
Momma, Can I Have a Ride is me trying to capture that moment when the sun is low on the water, reflecting the color of the foliage in it. A momma loon with a little guy riding on her back, all nestled in!
